In December I was asked to open a new learning area for the children at Fawley Primary School in Southampton. This initiative is to encourage the pupils to use an informal, fun, bright and relaxing room to explore all kinds of literature. I was honoured to be asked to cut the red tape and open this beautiful room.
Fawley is a “link” school which is supported by my employer Exxon Mobil, so I was delighted to attend as a local Author /Illustrator and an Exxon STEM ambassador.
The children were very engaging and we spent some time drawing some of the birds from my three books. In the new year I hope to return to the school and hand out some prizes for a drawing competition I’ve set.
