Fabulous day out at Abbottswood JS with 145 enthusiastic year 4 pupils all wanting to learn about creative writing, illustrating and conservation, we also managed time for an inquisitive Q & A session.
We covered the plight of the Hen Harrier using Skydancer, Martha the last passenger pigeon and what we can all do to help wildlife and become MAD , “Make A Difference”. We ended with good news stories with the resurgence of the Osprey and Red Kite.
I look forward to visiting soon to hand out prizes for their creative writing project, 30 pupils will receive a signed book which have been kindly donated by the New Forest Rotary Club, a huge thank you to Y4 teacher Mr Ed Humphries who went the extra mile to inspire his pupils by organising the day.
Feed back from a parent: Dear Mr Humphries and Yr 4 teachers
Laurelle came home from school yesterday absolutely buzzing about the amazing day she had had at school. She talked about it all evening, read her new book to us and practised drawing barn owls. She is very excited about what she will be learning this half term.
